Choosing a PDF tool
Use PDF to JPG to make page images, JPG or PNG to PDF to combine pictures, Merge PDF to join documents, and Split PDF to extract pages. PDF to Text reads existing text without OCR. Compression and Word conversion are planned, not currently available. Each working tool creates a new file and leaves your original unchanged.
Why PDF is worth the trouble
A PDF carries its own fonts, layout and page geometry, which is why it looks identical on a phone, a laptop and a printer. That fidelity is also why editing one is awkward: the file describes where each character sits rather than how the sentence flows. Keep the original PDF when layout matters. PDF to Text discards layout, while PDF to JPG produces page images; neither creates an editable Word document.

Which PDF tool do I need?
Use PDF to JPG for page images, Merge PDF to combine files, Split PDF to extract pages, or PDF to Text for selectable text. PDF to Word and Compress PDF are not available yet.
Do these tools work on scanned PDFs?
Merging, splitting and rendering work on scanned PDFs. PDF to Text extracts existing text; it does not perform optical character recognition. Compression and Word conversion are not available yet.
Will a password protected PDF work?
No. An encrypted PDF cannot be read without its password, so the job stops and tells you which file is locked. Remove the password in your PDF reader first.
