About this converter
Why JPG is often the better choice
PNG stores every pixel exactly, which is perfect for screenshots and logos and wasteful for photographs. A holiday photo saved as PNG can be five to ten times larger than the same picture as JPG with no visible difference. Converting is the quickest way to make a gallery load faster or an attachment small enough to send.
Transparency and quality
JPG has no transparent pixels, so anything transparent in the PNG is placed on white. Quality is yours to set: 90 percent is the sweet spot for photographs, 95 and above for images you may edit again, and below 75 the softening around edges starts to show. The result card reports exactly how much smaller each file became.
PNG to JPG: common questions
Do my images get uploaded?
No. This converter runs on your own device using your browser canvas, so nothing is transmitted. There is no server copy to delete, and it keeps working if your connection drops.
What happens to transparent areas?
They become white, because the JPG format cannot store transparency. If you need to keep a transparent background, stay with PNG or convert to WebP instead.
Can I convert many files at once?
Yes. Add up to 20 PNGs per batch, convert the batch in one pass, and download them one by one or together as a ZIP.
Will the image lose quality?
JPG is a lossy format, so some information is discarded by design. At the default 90 percent the difference is invisible at normal viewing size. Repeatedly re-saving the same JPG is what causes visible damage, not this single conversion.
